Times they are a changin'

Ok ladies, here is the dish! Made by Meagan is no longer. As I told you in the last post I needed some time to work things out and here they are. Made by Meagan is now officially The Mean Princess! I'm working on a new website, blog, new labels, cards, new Facebook page and an image with a overseas artist to create a logo.

I fell into Made by Meagan, it's something I've always done, being crafty that is. I started a blog so that friends and family back home could see what I was up to. Slowly new friends wanted to buy things and then a Facebook page, then Made by Mommies, so on and so forth. Made by Meagan is the best happy accident I've ever had the pleasure of stumbling upon. Creating pieces for your little princesses (and princes) has been so rewarding.

So this is something I have been struggling with since last year, how to brand myself. Well it all came together naturally. The Mean Princess is my daughter's nickname, given to her by my mother and since everything I design, I do with her in mind, so it seemed a perfect fit. I hope you all will follow me on my journey and to sweeten the pot........everyone that follows me over to my new page will have their name entered into a drawing that will be held when my page reaches it's current number, 428. The drawing will be done by random.org and you can win a $30 credit. I will assign everyone a # when they "like" my page that will correspond to the order you joined.

What I've been up to

So this is what I did this weekend. Room is still pretty bare, but now it has some color. Can't wait until the insurance company gets there stuff together so we can buy the rest of furniture and other items to make this house a home. Ready to get it done!

FALLing into the groove and finding me...............rambling

Ok lovelies,
It's been a great summer and fall is looking even better. My creative flow runneth over but I need a break. Summer is coming to an end and I'd like to spend some quality time with the young'in. I have been finding it hard to maintain MBM and everything else. I'm sure I'm not alone. I forget laundry, dishes, showering is optional and me time is no where to be found. The life of a WAHM is glamorous. I think it's time for some changes, much will be unnoticed by you but I'm hoping the fam will feel less resentful of the sewing. I'm going to catch up on this weeks orders, then start working on a few things for the mean princess, then start working on fall/winter pieces. Now here are a few changes you will notice..........during my "break", I will also be working on branding myself......Made by Meagan may even have a name change, a logo, new cards, tags, etc. It's something I have been kicking around for a while now. When I started out, MBM was just a blog. It was basically all things crafty made by me for gifts, my daughter, friends, etc. Then I started sewing and everything else, I mean everything (sadly) has taken a back seat. I LOVE what I do, I love my customers, I LOVE being creative......it's like breathing for me. I won't be gone, I will just not be taking orders until my daughter starts FULL day 1st grade. That will allow me to create guilt free 5 days a week. 6 hrs a day. So with that said, I hope all of you will continue to take this journey with me. I can't wait until I can dress your kids this fall in some vintage pieces!!!

Just in case you were wondering where I have been, I'm here, creating new custom orders. Here are some pictures of what I have been creating for the lovely little princesses.

This is the Ave, she will be heading to Miss Georgia soon, her mama did a fab job creatting this color palette.

......and there she is! I did it! I was sweating bullets over this spandex fabric.

Ok, here is the deal, this is a size 1T/2T, I'm guessing??? I had left over fabric and made this one. The chest is 21" fully stretched. I haven't hemmed it, so that whoever gets it can decide if she'd like it long, mid length or a top length. So, if your interested in this cutie pie, leave me some feedback. If there is a lot of interest, what should we do, Etsy or auction?
